Our story

Our story reaches back to Star Wreck in 2005 and Iron Sky in 2012, productions that pushed the scale of visual effects filmmaking in Finland and helped shape the experience behind Energia today.

We’re here because we like making films.

That means we want to understand what a sequence is for, not just what needs to be rendered. We speak up when we see a better way, and we would rather help plan a difficult sequence before the cameras roll than simply receive the plates afterwards.
The projects that interest us most tend to have a problem at their heart: a sequence with no obvious method, an image that has not been made before, or a shot someone is not quite sure how to achieve.
Our senior artists and supervisors work directly with directors, producers and cinematographers. You talk to the people planning the work and making the images.
And we care how the film turns out, not just how our shots turn out.
Every production matters deeply to the people making it. We treat it that way.
